The plot is a bit of a jumble but Terry Gilliam’s 12 monkeys is one of the best movie based on time travel. In 2035 the future world is devastated by disease. The civilization has been driven underground by the aftermath of a terrible plague. James Cole (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time to prevent a viral outbreak that wipes out most of humanity. So in order to save the world, James ends up walking toward his inevitable doom.
4. Fight Club (1999)
Do you like twists? Then watch Fight club. Norton as an insomniac office worker crosses paths with a charismatic-devil, soap making anarchist Brad Pitt. This movie is not just a simple action movie. There are anarchy, identity and lots of major themes in it. This movie is so dense, once you get to know Tyler Durden’s true identity, everything seems to be hazy. There’s a lot going on inside this movie and some flashbacks. You should watch this movie again if you didn’t get those things.
3. Primer (2004)
Unarguably, Primer is one of the most or maybe the most complex time travel film that have ever made. Primer is a film for viewers ready for a cerebral challenge. Four friends (scientists) accidentally create a machine capable of time travel, but each timeline remains totally distinct. The budget of Primer was extremely low (completed for $7,000). The movie is so complex that at some point you may need to Google just to know what is going on. At the end of the movie these scientists gets to know that time traveling is a bad idea and ended up losing the friendship.
2. Inception (2010)
We are honoured to have this Christopher Nolan masterpiece in our Top 5 movies you should watch twice list. In this film group of thief who steal corporate secrets through the use of the dream-sharing technology. Inception heavily relies on the concept of dreams within dreams and tons of significant hints which you will surely miss. Nolan manipulates the audience almost the whole time throughout this movie and the end of the movie is still unclear to most of us. Did Cobb’s top fall, does the top have anything to do with the ending or it is just to draw your attention from the main topic? What does Cobb’s ring signify, or the whole movie is Cobb’s dream? You better start watching it again.
