Durga Puja Mythology:

Durga is a powerful incarnation of “Shakti”. As per Hindu mythology, when Mahisasura, a demon, was powered from the blessings of Lord Shiva. He was creating havoc and started destroying the creations of the universe. To defeat him, a warrior goddess arrived.

At the climax of the war, the shape-changing asura had taken a form of A Buffalo (Mahish). Eventually, after a long fight, mighty Asura was defeated.

Durga Puja also includes worships of Lord Shiva, Ganesha and Kartikeya and Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Sharodia Durga Puja, signifying one of the unique facts of Hinduism that shows gender equality through Shaktism.
