Singer Robbie Williams To Release Christmas Album
Robbie Williams announced that he will release his first Christmas album on Friday. The album, named “The Christmas Present”, has two parts, named “Christmas Past” and “Christmas Future”. In addition, the album will feature duets with artists like Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Jamie Cullum. Plus, Robbie Williams and his father have a duet, too.
“I’m beyond excited to announce my first ever Christmas album. I’ve done a lot in my career and releasing this record is another dream come true,” Williams said in a statement. Williams has been a judge on The X Factor and was also part of boyband Take That in the 90s. In addition, he secured the 2001 #1 Christmas Song with a duet with Nicole Kidman.
Bill Macy Dies At 97
Maude star Bill Macy died Thursday night at the age of 97. Known for playing the husband of Maude Walter Findlay, his producer and manager announced his death on Facebook. He also made numerous guest appearances in shows like Law and Order and My Name is Earl. However, it was Maude that made him popular.
Known for his catchphrase “Maude, sit!”, Macy was a consistent laugh. He met his wife Samantha Harper during rehearsals for Oh, Calcutta!. He later married her in 1975. She guest-starred on one episode of Maude, and later starred in her own show. She survives Macy.
Alicia Alonso Dies At 98
Cuban ballet legend Alicia Alonso died Thursday at the age of 98. She received global acclaim in the ’40s and ran the renowned National Ballet of Cuba. “Alicia Alonso has gone and left an enormous void, but also an unbeatable legacy,” President Miguel Diaz-Canel said in a post on Twitter. “She positioned Cuba at the altar of the best of dance worldwide. Thank you Alicia for your immortal work.”
Clueless Reboot In The Works
A reboot of hit show Clueless is reportedly in the works. However, it may not be the same story as before. According to Deadline, the series is a ” baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latté and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when the high school queen bee Cher disappears”. In addition, the show is set in 2020 instead of 1995. A date or platform is yet to be announced.
Vietnam Pulls “Abominable”
Vietnam pulled DreamWorks’ “Abominable” over a line drawn in the South China Sea map. In the movie, a scene features a map with China’s unilaterally declared “nine-dash line” in the South China Sea. Vietnam regards this area as theirs and revoked the film’s license. “We will revoke (the film’s license),” Ta Quang Dong, deputy minister of culture, sports and tourism, said.
