The upcoming session of JEE Main is scheduled to be held between January 6 and 20, 2019. Details regarding the Centre, Date, and Shift of Examination will be specified in the JEE Main Admit Card.
In this article, we summarize all the exam day important points/codes of conduct so that candidates do not make any inadvertent mistake in the first major entrance of their lives.
Points to Remember About JEE Main 2019
Please ensure to reach the test center about 2 hours before the commencement of the examination in order to undergo the mandatory frisking and registration formalities on time. No candidate will be permitted to enter the Examination Hall after 8.30 AM for the First Shift and after 1.30 PM. for the Second Shift.
You are bound to present the JEE Main Admit Card.
Documents Needed on the Exam Day
- You are also required to carry the following documents for registration and verification purpose at the exam center:
- One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the JEE Main Online Application Form) for pasting on the attendance sheet at Exam Centre.
- A valid Central/State Government issued Photo ID Card in original (PAN card/Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/Ration Card).
- Disability Certificate in prescribed format, authorized by any Competent Authority (if claiming the relaxation under PWD Category).
Important Instructions
You will not be allowed to carry any stationary items like Calculator/Geometry Case/Pencil Box/Slide Rule/Log Table or any kind of written or printed Paper or Textual Material; personal items like Handbag, Purse, Cellular Phone/Pager/Ear Phone/Electronic Watches or any other electronic gadgets or metallic items; any edibles and water (loose/packed) in the examination hall.
If any candidate is found to be in possession of any of the above items, the same will be confiscated, the act treated as use of unfair means and will lead to cancellation of the current exam as well as debarment of the candidate for future examination(s).
As for edible items, only Diabetic candidates will be allowed to carry food items like sugar tablets/fruits (example, banana/apple/orange) and water in a transparent bottle to the examination hall. However, even such candidates are not allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/candy/sandwich etc.
Candidates appearing for Paper 2 of JEE Mains are required to carry their own pencils, geometry box set, erasers, color pencils and crayons for the Drawing Aptitude Test.
A seat with a computer terminal indicating roll number will be allocated to each candidate. Candidature will be cancelled if a candidate occupied a seat other than the one allotted to him/her.
Please note that it is the sole prerogative of the candidate to appear for the examination at the Exam Center and on the date and shift as indicated in their JEE Main Admit Card.
Make sure to check that the question paper available on the computer node is as per your preferred paper indicated in the JEE Main Admit Card. In case there is any discrepancy in the subject of question it should be promptly brought to the notice of the Invigilator.
You will be provided with blank sheets with a Header page to write your Name and Roll Number. All calculations/rough work has to be done in this blank sheet and upon completion of the test, you are required to hand over the same to the invigilator on duty.
You are not allowed to leave your seat or the exam hall until the full duration of the paper is over without the special permission of the Examination Officials.
Please do not carry any bags or valuables to the JEE Main exam center. The same will not be allowed inside the exam hall. The NTA will not be responsible for the loss of any belongings at the premises.
Smoking, chewing Pan Masala, spitting etc. in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
You should approach the exam officials in the Exam hall for any technical issues, first aid emergency or any other assistance during the course of the examination.
All JEE Main candidates are governed by all Rules and Regulations of the NTA with regard to their conduct in the Examination Hall. Each case of unfair means will be strictly dealt with as per rules.
