The world loves the very beautiful and inspiring, Sophia Loren. Once she was quoted saying that, “Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes.
It is not something physical”. Though we admire her, girls will be girls and we’ll keep loving our makeup no matter what.
Us, makeup and Valentine’s Day
This season of love is a good time to play with our palette in ways that we cannot do everyday. So, let’s have fun with these 5 Valentine’s Day makeup tips:
Cupid’s arrow
You can achieve this makeup using any of your go-to date night makeup as a base.
To keep it simple, you can start by giving your face a flawless finish, using colors in the nudes except for your bottom eyelids.
Use an eyeliner in a hot pink shade to highlight your lower lids. On the outer corner of one eye, draw cupid with his arrow using your hot pink eyeliner.
Use the same shade to color your lips.
Candy Hearts
Cute and candy colors are the themes that you are going for in this makeup. Think bright candy colors and cute tints in pale shades of pastels.
The best place always to play with these kinds of palettes are your eyes and your lips.
If feel intimidated with the color, you can always choose to wear these as an eyeliner or lip-liner just to add a tiny pop of color to your look.
For your hearts, achieve these with hearts drawn with holographic lipstick on one side of your lips or on the outer, lower part of one eye.
Better yet, look for studs that are heart shaped. Use your eyelash glue to set this on your face.
Colored Kisses
Playfully sing like Martika when you say, “You give me, give me colored kisses / Colored kisses for my lips to taste” with a cool, almost magical, holographic lipstick or extremely glittered lippies.
If you’re comfortable, pair your lip shade and your eye shade. Feel free to use your lipstick to color your eyelids to achieve the very same shade.
Make sure to line and fill your eyelids with a matte concealer first so that your eye shadow or your lipstick stays in place and won’t slip for the rest of the night.
If you want to tone down, simply use a pop of color for your eyelids that will complement the color of your lips. Use nude eye shadow shades to create depth for your eyes.
Then, drop glitter all over your face, if you’re using glitter, and make sure to do the same for all skin surfaces showing on your neck, chest and shoulders.
Chocolate Giveaways
The best way to pull off chocolate tasting lips is to use real chocolate to color and flavor it.
How? Only by DIY, of course! Follow this step-by-step process to make your own chocolate flavored lip balm.
What you’ll need: 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup cocoa butter, 1 cup beeswax, 1/4 cup aloe vera,1/2 cup cocoa powder, balm tins or sticks
Step 1: Melt cocoa powder in 1/4 cup hot water. Set aside to cool completely.
Step 2: Melt coconut oil and cocoa butter in a sauce pan.
Step 3: Add beeswax.
Step 4: Add in cooled liquefied cocoa powder.
Step 5: Pour in balm tins of sticks to shape and cool.
Wear the rest of your makeup in nude and bronze shades. The delicious chocolate ingredient in your lip balm will give off a sweet aroma that gets even better when you get your kiss because your lips will taste exactly like chocolate.
Lady in Red
One of the trendiest Valentine’s Day makeup tips is wearing red eyeliners and red cream eye shadow in the same shade deliberately smudged on top and bottom of your eyelids.
You can wear your lips in the same shade of red too or, choose to go down a couple of deeper burgundy shades.
An eyelash extension or a pair of falsies will complete the vibrant, sultry overall look of your makeup. Other than your lips and your eye area, everything else on your face must be toned down. You also won’t need eyeliners to line your lids.
CONCLUSION
Makeup was made for play. We, girls, don’t get to do that with much ease everyday but Valentine’s Day gives us the perfect reason to show off our artistic prowess so go ahead and impress!
